Whoa. I zipped through this volume. It makes me sad that I don't have 30 yet. Hurry up, public library system!
In the forest, Zoro is sick of the giant south bird following him around. (It's hoping he might have more food to share.)
The whole time, all I can do is look at the bird's head (direction) and laugh. Oh, Zoro, it's like you don't remember ANYTHING if it pertains to going the right way.
(Damn, I love Robin, but she is freaking scary.)
So freaking scary that I'm beginning to wonder if those comments on awfulness are self-reflection.
The five-way battle is on.
I think this is what had me zipping through. The sheer joy of seeing them all haphazardly converge on the same place.
Zoro is enraged
And he's so determined to rescue Nami from the belly of the snake later. Zoro is a kinder friend than he lets on.
Robin a mere speck against the grand scope of the ruins.
Those are some THICK cloud layers, if they were hiding all this and no one else noticed for 400 years.
his speech quirk
Remind me of the quirk?
Nami and Aisa show up (to the equal horror of Zoro and Wiper).
I like Wiper a little better from this point on. Not just because of his concern for Aisa and Raki when she shows up, but because he and Zoro are shown as parallel in all their reactions.
Shandora fought to preserve the Poneglyphs, and was destroyed.
MORE HISTORY!
When the dog attacks, he frantically screams "WAIT!" and is startled when the dog does exactly that.
I found this utterly hilarious. Not so amused by the dog conking itself out, but Zoro was never one to be sentimental about animals. (Poor takoyaki'd octopal.)
I never read these volumes before, so this cover arc is new to me.
??? You skipped Skypiea? The cover arcs don't appear in the magazine chapters?
Even the snake seems happy and excited. He's looking around as if searching for something. Then he starts crying, and wailing. (Aw, *spoiler*! ;__;)
Oh, wow. I overlooked that. And I was so sensitive to the snake's reactions when Luffy was banging around inside him.
Robin's calm reactions are like a non-stop comedy routine.
I would love them if they came across better in the English translation. To me, both the swordsman and navigator lines read kind of like accusations rather than observations.
One of the little kids says he's never seen his father; he was a heavenly warrior, and his mother keeps promising that he'll come back some day.
*sniffle* I keep thinking you and w_10_00 lied to me and all the heavenly warriors are dead.
Zoro catches Robin's unconscious body.
Seriously, he's being all crazy chivalrous in this volume.
Wiper asks Enel if he's ever heard of kairouseki.
WIPER! You had a PLAN!
He has the ability to shock his own heart back into beating.
Just stay dead, Enel. I mean, I knew Wiper wasn't really going to be the one to kill you, but if you come back to life, the fighting isn't over. STAY DEAD.
So…would Enel's plan return the upper yard to earth while it simultaneously destroys Skypiea, or would the upper yard also be destroyed? I'm just wondering if his plan is oddly aligned with Shandoran goals.
Now I am late for work. Curse you, Oda-sensei. Edit: forgot a user pic.
