Day 21 - Best yandere character

sara_tanaquilI had to google this to find out what it meant. Apparently, while tsundere means someone who is all huffy and hostile (tsun) on the outside and mushy-sweet-sentimental (dere) on the inside, yandere means somebody who appears to be sweet-as-sugar (dere) on the outside, but is really batsh@t crazy/murderous stalker (yan?) on the inside.
Since I'm not entirely sure why I would have favorite ANYTHING in this category, I'll give a tongue in cheek answer...
Tongue-in-cheek, because Tomoyo is far too sweet to ever truly tip over the edge into crazytown. And goodness knows I have no fault to find with innocent girl-crushes. But let's be honest, there was something seriously off with her whole costume-and-video-camera obsession.
Hmm. Are there any yandere BL characters? I mean, every obsessive controlling seme ever might count, but they aren't usually "dere".
... It occurs to me only now that Kei (from Fujimi) is probably yandere all over. Oh dear.

Date: 2011-05-29 01:49 am (UTC)I swear I was just reading something not too long ago where a character was totally devoted to his boyfriend, but worried about his boyfriend finding out about his more evil side. But I can't for the life of me remember what it was. This is really going to bug me until I come up with it. :/
ETA: Hana no Aru Seikatsu by Monchi Koari. (A reprint of an older work.) I went to look at a stack of recently read manga, and luckily it happened to be right on top. Phew, I was worried I'd be looking for it all night.
I'm honestly not really familiar with yandere, but I'm thinking maybe characters like G-Defend's Crow and the title character from Kawaii Akuma might count? Oh! Oh! I just remembered Kirepapa. Chisato is totally my answer!
