Day where was I again?

I think I'll have a better shot at catching up if I don't try to do all the missed days at once, so here's two at least. (Neither of these things is at all like the other one.)

Day 22 - Favorite BL/yuri couple

Remember when I said I was saving my real favorite couple for Day 22?



My gateway BL drug. If you tell me Hotohori/Nuriko's not canon, I will stick my fingers in my ears and go LA LA LA I CAN'T HEAR YOU. Totally canon in my head. Thank goodness for reincarnation fanfic.

Day 23 - Anime you think had the best, or most intriguing art

Nearly all the characters were annoying, the plot made no sense, and I yawn through giant robot shows, but I still think the imagery for the "Angels" was some of the most amazing stuff I've ever seen. I really should re-watch that sometime.

Day 22: OK, I knew you liked them but apparently not nearly well enough because I don't think I saw that one coming. I *wish* I knew you in my/you/our? FY phase.

Day 23: Evangelion fans, this is the show you will be buying in some form for the rest of your lives.

Obviously I already gave my Day 22 answer (Hiro and Nowaki 4EVER). I would probably have to think harder on all the anime I've ever seen to come up with a more personal response to Day 23, because the only thing I can really come up with right now (because of how novel/funky it was) is Gankutsuou .... and I've only SEEN like 1 episode of that thing.

Hmm. If we're talking canon couples, probably Takano/Ritsu. For non-canon couples, Gon/Killua (Hunter x Hunter)--the parts of the series that are just the two of them hanging around and goofing off training are like my favorite thing ever.

For 23, I'll go with Howl's Moving Castle, because that movie makes zero sense, but it's absolutely freaking GORGEOUS.

22) If we're talking canon couples, I feel like my sampling is too small to make a selection (basically I feel like Junjou Romantica has this incredibly unfair advantage for presenting the characters more appealingly than the usual OVA flyby), when none of the Junjou couples would come out as my favorites in a manga meme). But while I see, erm, BLppoi couples in mainstream anime as distinct from random fan slashing, the moment we lift canon restraints, my imagination goes wild and everybody's fair game. And that's too wide a field. Curse you, indecision.

On the strength of love for the couple alone, it would have to be Masa x Kai ALWAYS. But the Kizuna OVAs are not the stuff of favorites. Also, for some reason I only have the first Harudaki DVD. That seems very unlike me.

See, I watched the Kizuna OVA ~13 years ago, but not a single detail remains in my memory. Probably because of that, anytime someone talks about liking the series, it slides right off my brain without sticking. It just doesn't compute.
