I don't have great answers to any of these questions, and Day 27 and Day 30 are related, so I decided to do them all at once.

Day 27 - Favorite anime opening theme song

Opening/closing theme is hard for me to answer, because anime theme songs go in one ear and out the other for me. I don't remember them if I'm not actually watching them at the time. So it's inevitable that my answers to Days 27 and 30 are from One Piece.

That having been said, I usually find songs either irritating (so I skip over them quickly) or addictive. This (OP Opening Theme #2) is one that I enjoy so much I sometimes go out of my way to listen to it again. Not for the music, mind you, but for the totally cheesy Japanese voice-over at the beginning. I love it!

Day 28 - Favorite pokemon

I -- what. OK, I cannot answer this question on the grounds that I have literally never seen Pokemon. However, I went and found a Random Pokemon Generator, and it gave me #151, Mew. Which seems appropriate.

Day 29 - Favorite school uniform

Too bad Saa Koi ni Ochitamae isn't an anime

This is almost as bad. I don't really pay much attention to uniforms in anime, idk. However, in honor of Utena's re-release on DVD (and in honor of cross-dressers everywhere):

Day 30 - Favorite anime ending theme

Again from One Piece, Closing #2. (It's really just a coincidence that both of my favorites are #2.) This not only has a theme so catchy I literally can't get it out of my head, but it has all the crew members in their little-kid versions. SO CUTE. (I can't decide which wee crew member I like best. I do love that they only use this ending after we've seen the first five crew member's backstories, even though they're not particularly spoilery.)

Now to tackle all that re-reading, now that I've finally been reunited with my manga. ^__^

nice to start the morning with a good cry, lol

Yeeeeah, does kinda inspire that. Course, OP in general has the ability to make me cry more than just about anything...

If you watch the 14th opening, it has more along the same lines, also very nicely done. I find it kinda amusing, as well as telling of Japan, that the anime openings later on basically just assume the viewers have all read the manga considering how spoilery/referencing future events, anime-wise in comparison to manga, they can be...

I did watch 14, it definitely contributed to the cry.

Yeah, OPs are AWFUL about spoilers. See also: Fushigi Yuugi. ("Wow, Chiriko looks totally different than he does in the OP...?")

Ah yes, those OPs together really are a one two sucker punch.

BAahahaha! It's funny cause it's true. We (my sister, my mom and I) all had that same reaction when watching FY for the first time....ahh, 懐かしい!!

In retrospect, it's really hilarious to me that my reaction wasn't "Dude, Chiriko's in the OP and you are obviously NOT HIM, so gtfo you poser." I'll blame it on my newb-ness. XD

FY was actually my gateway anime, but we were so enamored of the opening song that we watched it pretty much every ep so even though we were unused to the ways of anime OPs being a spoiler-haven, we still picked up on Suboshi...or was it Amiboshi, can't remember...gaah, oh FY, it's been so long!

Oh, yeah, I watched it every episode, too. But still...somehow it didn't click. ^^;;; I even remember the episode where actual Chiriko shows up; they show him in silhouette and I was like, "oh, he looks like the OP there!" I think it was somewhere in there that I put things together, haha.

(I believe it was Amiboshi, btw. It was for what happened to him after he was discovered that Suboshi wanted revenge.)

LOL, it's been so long since I actually watched FY all the way through that I had forgotten all about that plot thread. It took a while for me to figure out what you were talking about. ^_^;;

I really need to get my hands on that Japanese manga before I get far enough along in the opening credits of One Piece to get spoiled. Though, I do think Usopp and Sanji were both in the credits before they were introduced, so maybe that counts. I like not knowing who the other crew members are going to be, though -- at least until one shows up and I'm all "So THAT'S who I've been seeing in a gazillion icons." I recognized Chopper at once without knowing at all who he was!

Holy crap, I've been behind on the anime for a bit and hadn't seen the video for the new OP - visually, I think it has to be my new favorite now (OMG cry at the flashback montage)

Yeah, I like the song better for 13, but visually 14 is AMAZING(ly painful! Oh One Piece! Odacchi is such an evil genius!)

LOL, I love how every parting scene is like "I'm too manly to cry even though I'm a 139 year old woman so I will act like I hate you and kick you out, but then we'll all break down and bawl like babies ANYWAY." Oh, Japan!

This is soooo late and I'm not sure who is going to see this comment besides me and [livejournal.com profile] gnine, but wow. I just finally got a chance to look up the "One Day" OP 13, and it is pretty cool (I had skipped over all that part of the anime in favor of reading the manga so I would be caught up in Japan, so I'm missing large chunks of the anime that I'm now going back and catching up on).

But I have to say, it kind of paled in light of OP 14 (Fight Together), which I experienced first, because I watched a bunch of the episodes after 500 when I came back from Japan. I seriously don't think "Fight Together" is EVER going to make me stop crying. I cry every single time I watch an episode that starts with that opening. Every day. Every week. It doesn't matter. It's that good.

I'm really sad that the next upcoming episode (517?) won't have that theme any more. They could keep that as the opening for the next 500 episodes and I'd be happy.
