Five requested by [livejournal.com profile] gnine!

Oh, man, I swear there was some sort of backstory to this, but now I can't track it down. I looked through my entire series of 2005 journal entries (because I know I picked it up sometime during that year), but to no avail. I thought the lettering on it had been done by [livejournal.com profile] spacealien_vamp, like so many of my icons, but since I didn't credit her on my icon page, maybe I'm misremembering? Anyway, I adore this icon, and it so often sums up all my feelings about Japanese. No cookie for you, Japanese! For anyone who doesn't know, the character means "bad."

Kimi ni Todoke! (That's Kazehaya being adorable, as Kazehaya always is.) Oh, you must watch the anime and/or read the manga if you don't know about this lovely shoujo series. The anime is complete; the manga is still running, though I think it's nearing an end - I just picked up vol. 20 in Japan. My favorite icon when encouragement is needed (either for someone else or for myself).

Ahaha, the finale to season 2 of Chuck! I actually can't remember all the details of the climax (way overdue for a re-watch), but it's a wedding (Chuck's sister) that goes hideously, horribly wrong when Chuck's secret spy life somehow intersects with Chuck's dorky BuyMore colleagues who were recruited to perform at the wedding in their dreadful amateur band. I wish I could find more opportunities to use this icon.

One of my several Odoru icons, all by the talented [livejournal.com profile] spacealien_vamp. I don't get to reference Odoru often enough (and how often otherwise does one want to post about stalking or strip shows?), but I've been on an Odoru rewatch kick just lately, as part of my campaign to do more listening practice. Just such a fun TV series.

One of [livejournal.com profile] spacealien_vamp's best. From the halcyon [livejournal.com profile] g_defend community days. I'm always on the lookout for a chance to use it, and sometimes I even find one. I love Ishikawa's clueless face.

Oh, dear god, I finally found it. (For the record, it was a thread in [livejournal.com profile] mangaroo's journal. Thread: May 12, 2005.) I should have thought to search my old email archive sooner. (Most of my email is in gmail, but that only started in 2009.)

In the meantime, I got to read a lot of old comments on G-Defend summaries. Natsukashii!

Speaking of summaries, where did I put One Piece vol. 32?

Thanks for this link, btw. It's been a while since I read the character interviews; those posts were so much fun. (I'd completely forgotten about Chatty McSlappyface!)
