Wrapping it up

I don't have great answers to any of these questions, and Day 27 and Day 30 are related, so I decided to do them all at once.
Day 27 - Favorite anime opening theme song
Opening/closing theme is hard for me to answer, because anime theme songs go in one ear and out the other for me. I don't remember them if I'm not actually watching them at the time. So it's inevitable that my answers to Days 27 and 30 are from One Piece.
That having been said, I usually find songs either irritating (so I skip over them quickly) or addictive. This (OP Opening Theme #2) is one that I enjoy so much I sometimes go out of my way to listen to it again. Not for the music, mind you, but for the totally cheesy Japanese voice-over at the beginning. I love it!
Day 28 - Favorite pokemon
I -- what. OK, I cannot answer this question on the grounds that I have literally never seen Pokemon. However, I went and found a Random Pokemon Generator, and it gave me #151, Mew. Which seems appropriate.
Day 29 - Favorite school uniform
Too bad Saa Koi ni Ochitamae isn't an anime
This is almost as bad. I don't really pay much attention to uniforms in anime, idk. However, in honor of Utena's re-release on DVD (and in honor of cross-dressers everywhere):

Day 30 - Favorite anime ending theme
Again from One Piece, Closing #2. (It's really just a coincidence that both of my favorites are #2.) This not only has a theme so catchy I literally can't get it out of my head, but it has all the crew members in their little-kid versions. SO CUTE. (I can't decide which wee crew member I like best. I do love that they only use this ending after we've seen the first five crew member's backstories, even though they're not particularly spoilery.)
Now to tackle all that re-reading, now that I've finally been reunited with my manga. ^__^

Date: 2011-06-15 12:22 pm (UTC)I honestly haven't watched the anime in forever (really should start that again...), but I follow the manga--tankoubon, not magazine, so I am behind some fans, but anime stuff won't be a spoiler, anyway.

Date: 2011-06-15 01:40 pm (UTC)Yeeeeah, does kinda inspire that. Course, OP in general has the ability to make me cry more than just about anything...
If you watch the 14th opening, it has more along the same lines, also very nicely done. I find it kinda amusing, as well as telling of Japan, that the anime openings later on basically just assume the viewers have all read the manga considering how spoilery/referencing future events, anime-wise in comparison to manga, they can be...

BAahahaha! It's funny cause it's true. We (my sister, my mom and I) all had that same reaction when watching FY for the first time....ahh, 懐かしい!!

Date: 2011-06-16 03:14 pm (UTC)I really need to get my hands on that Japanese manga before I get far enough along in the opening credits of One Piece to get spoiled. Though, I do think Usopp and Sanji were both in the credits before they were introduced, so maybe that counts. I like not knowing who the other crew members are going to be, though -- at least until one shows up and I'm all "So THAT'S who I've been seeing in a gazillion icons." I recognized Chopper at once without knowing at all who he was!

Date: 2011-09-29 03:52 am (UTC)But I have to say, it kind of paled in light of OP 14 (Fight Together), which I experienced first, because I watched a bunch of the episodes after 500 when I came back from Japan. I seriously don't think "Fight Together" is EVER going to make me stop crying. I cry every single time I watch an episode that starts with that opening. Every day. Every week. It doesn't matter. It's that good.
I'm really sad that the next upcoming episode (517?) won't have that theme any more. They could keep that as the opening for the next 500 episodes and I'd be happy.
